The Maasai Mara
Kenya's share of the same ecosystem as the Serengeti, and the stage for the annual wildebeest migration between roughly July and October. Even outside migration season the resident game is exceptional.
Kenya is the most straightforward introduction to an African safari, and the East Africa Tourist Visa lets you combine it with Uganda and Rwanda on a single application, which is usually cheaper and always simpler.

Amboseli and Kilimanjaro
Amboseli sits directly beneath Kilimanjaro on the Tanzanian border, giving the classic view of elephants with the mountain behind. The peak is usually clearest in the early morning.
